ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – An Orangeburg County woman wanted in connection to a December break-in is now behind bars after deputies say she stole from the 85-year-old victim.

Deborah Hoxworth, 54, of Eutawville, is charged with first-degree burglary, strong arm robbery, and malicious injury to personal property.

According to the incident report on the morning of December 21, Hoxworth went to victim’s Eutawville residence and stole his wallet after shoving him to the floor several times.

The victim reportedly tired to prevent Hoxworth from coming into the resident, but she reportedly barred the man from closing his door by putting her foot in the door.

When he said he would call law enforcement, she broke his phone while taunting him the incident report says.

The woman then grabbed the man’s wallet and stole $30 before fleeing.

Hoxworth made her first court appearance late Thursday.

Bond was set a $5,000 surety for strong arm robbery and another $500 bond for the property damage charge.
