Mothers Against Drunk Driving to Host 4th Annual ‘Walk Like MADD’ Event

LEXINGTON,SC (WOLO)- The Thompson Funeral Homes in Lexington held a pep rally luncheon for this year’s ‘Walk Like MADD’ event.

The event had special guest speakers including Steven Burritt, the MADD program director and Lexington mayor Steve MacDougall as well as those who walked in the past years.

“It’s just too simple to prevent a DUI death,” Volunteer Chair, Patricia Voelker said. “If you’re drinking you don’t drive, if you’re the driver, you don’t drink. It is that simple. It’s one plus one equals two.”

The 4th annual Walk Like MADD event will take place on April 22 at Saluda Shoals Park.

Organizers say almost $100,000 has been raised in the first three years of the event.
