Woman Arrested For DUI After Fatal Motorcycle Crash

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC (WOLO)- A West Columbia woman has been arrested for driving under the influence when she was involved in a crash that killed a motorcyclist Sunday morning.

Troopers say Catherine Crumley ,52, struck a Harley Davidson motorcycle head on in the 700 block of Old Barnwell Road in Lexington County at 11a.m.

The driver of the motorcycle, Larry Edgar Williams, 65, was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene of the injuries he received in the accident.

Crumley was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries before she was arrested.

An autopsy will be performed on Monday, April 17, 2017 to determine the cause of death.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident.
