Newberry’s Knight calls The Citadel the “second-best team in South Carolina”

NEWBERRY, S.C. (WOLO) — Whether he intended to or not — he probably didn’t — Newberry head coach Todd Knight may have offended the Gamecocks.

Talking to ABC Columbia Sports on Thursday, Knight called The Citadel, whom the Wolves open the season with this season, the “second-best team in South Carolina” with the first being, obviously, Clemson.

The Wolves are coming off a 10-1 season, winning the SAC Championship for the third time in school history and are picked to repeat as league champions.
