Ever since I was little I have always had a fascination with sports in some way or another. I believe I have had a chance to tryout most sports throughout my childhood; soccer, basketball, wrestling, baseball, football, swimming, track, cross country, and who knows what else. As I got older, the main two sports I played were soccer and basketball, but I've always loved watching and talking about anything sports related; knowing that I wasn't athletically gifted enough to make a career playing anything, I decided to do the next best thing I could think of - covering those who were gifted enough.
I am from originally from Pennsylvania, growing up in different parts throughout my young life, but I have been in Columbia for the past three years now, studying at USC. Coming from the north, I didn't know much about the SEC or South Carolina Athletics, but as most students do, I learned pretty quickly - they are not just sporting events or sports teams, it's a way of life.
Currently, I am a student at USC studying Broadcast Journalism. In the summer of 2012, I had a great opportunity to be an intern in the Sports Department for ABC Columbia (WOLO) and learned a lot from the team. When the summer came to an end, I hated that I had to leave and wasn't really looking forward to going back to just being a student. Well, was I happy when I had the chance to join the team at WOLO to help cover my beloved Gamecocks when the opportunity presented itself right before the start of football season.
