Mary Ann Chastain has been working as a Photojournalist for over 25 years.
She got her start with The Greenville News in 1984 after graduating from The University of South Carolina with a BA degree in Media Arts.
From 1987-1994 she work as a freelance Photojournalist for the Associated Press, The New York Times, The Boston Globe and The Atlanta Journal Constitution, as well as The State Newspaper.
From 1994-2009, she was a Staff Photographer for the Associated Press in South Carolina.
From 2009 until the present, she is a freelance Photojournalist for Getty Images, Reuters, and The Associated Press.
Mary Ann joined the ABC Columbia staff as a part-time Photojournalist in March 2012.
She truly enjoys telling stories visually and doing that now on a video format has opened up a new prospective on how to bring those stories to inform and educate our viewers.
Mary Ann lives in Chapin with her husband Tony, and they have two grown children.
