As a child, Gabrielle Franklin was always curious about what was going on around the world. Now as a television news reporter, she makes a living out of her passion and curiosity.

Born and raised in Northeast Columbia, Gabrielle is proud to be working in the Capital City. As a graduate of Blythewood High School and Winthrop University, she has met many smiling faces and seen many of the beautiful places in the Palmetto State.

Before joining the ABC Columbia team in October 2016, Gabrielle worked as a weekend anchor and multimedia journalist at WOAY-TV, the ABC affiliate in southern West Virginia. During her time in the Mountain State, she covered stories of local and national interest including flood devastation, the 2016 campaign trail, community events, and animal cruelty cases.

During her time at Winthrop, Gabrielle maintained her interest in news by interning at television stations in Columbia, S.C. and Charlotte, N.C., being a leader in the school’s chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists, creating and hosting a radio show, and serving as a producer, reporter, and anchor on the school’s news program.

Gabrielle enjoys meeting new people and sharing their stories. Shoot her an email and connect with her on social media if you would like to share a story idea or just say hello!
