Fight for Air Climb
Date(s) & Time(s)::
June 1, 2013 at 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM
Location: Capitol Center 1201 Main St Columbia, SC 29201
The Fight for Air Climb is a vertical climb that challenges participants to climb up the 25 floors (479 steps) of the Capitol Center in downtown Columbia. It is a professionally timed and ranked event that gives participants the opportunity to compete against the clock and conquer the tallest building in the city. Whether your goal is to win the event, or just make it to the top, we guarantee you’ll walk away with a brand new appreciation for your lungs! Proceed raised will support the American Lung Association in its mission to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease, particularly through local research and advocacy programs. Those that want to join the ALA in its mission and support the Fight for Air Climb, but may not plan to climb stairs, are invited to participate as a Virtual Climber. If you will not be in Columbia on June 1 or have health conditions which make stair climbing inadvisable, this is another opportunity to be a part of the event. To learn how you can help support or participate the Fight for Air Climb, become a virtual climber, or form a climb team, please contact Melissa Goforth, ALA Regional Manager, at 803.779.5864 or via e-mail at MGoforth@LungSC.org .
