Columbia’s First Family will host a Let's Move! ‘Egg-venture’ celebration on Friday, March 29 from 4-6 p.m. at Drew Park, behind the Charles R. Drew Wellness Center (2101 Walker Solomon Way). The celebration will include warm-up exercises, instructor led line dances, kid-friendly lessons on creating healthy snacks, an Easter egg hunt, and prizes.

“We want to show families that getting more exercise and incorporating healthy eating into the family routine can be managed with a little planning. Spring is a great time of year to begin picking out those activities that will add some heart-pumping activities to your routine that you and your children can enjoy,” said the Honorable Deandrea Benjamin, Columbia’s First Lady and Let’s Move! Chairwoman.

“Let’s Move!” is First Lady Michelle Obama’s national initiative to combat childhood obesity, promote making healthy choices, improve food quality in schools and increase physical activity. The City of Columbia launched its official “Let’s Move! Columbia” initiative on March 29, 2011.
