Sundays at Lowman Concert SeriesReturn to event list.
White Rock, SC, January 12, 2014: Join us, Sunday January 12, 2014 for an afternoon of music. Performing will be the Palmetto Brass Band!
The Palmetto Brass was founded in 1986 due to a request for the SC Philharmonic to provide a brass quintet to perform for a state presentation at Brookgreen Gardens.
By 1989, The Palmetto Brass had developed a fun reputation for concert venues and versatile, yet appropriate literature for religious venues. The group auditioned successfully for the Arts Commission Showcase, and that led to a three year run as the Resident Quintet for Spoleto Festival in Charleston. The have performed as many as 34 concerts in a three week period at various venues.
The quintet, made up of musicians David Allison, Dr. Randolph Love, Kenneth Turner, Bruce Clark, and Dr. Ron Davis, has continued as an active performing group to this day after 27 years.
All Sunday at Lowman Concerts are held at 3:00 pm on Sunday afternoons in the New Life Chapel located in the Wellness Center on the Heritage at Lowman campus and will be followed by a reception in the adjacent Hoefler Gallery. The concerts are free and open to the public. For more information please call (803) 451.7414.
