(WOLO) GAMBRILLS, M.D., --

A case of road rage has cost a Maryland man his life. Authorities say the 36 year old man was upset with another driver and exited his car to confront him. That's when officials say the driver of the other car shot and killed him.

Authorities confirm, the suspected gunman, 40 year old Joseph Walker was a New Jersey police officer who had his wife and three children in the vehicle with him at the time of the shooting.

Police are interviewing eyewitnesses, including the victim's passenger to find out exactly what happened.

Walker has been arrested and charged with second degree murder.
