Fast Food Chain Zaxby's Hacked

By Rochelle Dean

There are a host of locations that have been affected by the breach from Georgia, North Carolina and even right here in the Midlands. Specifically, the Zaxby's locations along Garner's Ferry and Two Notch Road where if you used a credit or debit card, your personal information could be in the wrong hands.

The company says they take the security of their guests seriously and as soon as they were notified of possible fraudulent activity they immediately notified law enforcement.

Unfortunately they say they do not have the contact information for all of their customers who could possibly be affected and are asking all of their customers to be extra vigilant and pay attention to any and all suspicious activity.

It's advice, The SC Department of Consumer Affairs Communications coordinator, Juliana Harris strongly supports. While she says hearing about the hacking of fast food chains are rare, in this day in age you can never be too careful.

Harris suggests, protecting yourself by monitoring any strange activity to your bank and or debit and credit cards. Sharris also says it may be a good idea to enroll in online alerts through your bank. Many time they will send you text messages if they see unusual activity on your account.

In the meantime, company officials say they are working to implement additional security measures to prevent further intrusions.
