Police Searching for Home Invasion Suspects PDF Print E-mail

The Lexington County Sheriff's Department is investigating a home invasion at a residence in the Challendon Subdivision of Columbia.

Police say around 10 p.m. last night, two men were shot and one was critically wounded. Authorities say Domonic Thomas, 32 of Baffin Bay Road, was shot once in the chest and once in the leg. Another victim, Antonio Bradley, 26, a visitor at Thomas' home, was shot once in the leg. Both were transported to area hospitals.

SC Agencies Offering Suggestions for Budget Cuts PDF Print E-mail

(AP) _ South Carolina state agency leaders are letting the governor know where cuts can be made in their budgets. Education and law enforcement are among the services that could be hit.
  

The suggestions expected to be completed Friday are coming after South Carolina's economic advisers this week cut projections for tax collections and other revenues by $415 million. The slumping economy means lawmakers will have to trim from the state's $7 billion spending plan.

Man Wanted For Burglaries in Blythewood Area Captured PDF Print E-mail

Christopher WallaceThe Richland County Sheriff's Department has captured a man wanted for taking a vehicle without permission and then using it to commit several burglaries in the Blythewood area.

Deputies say Christopher Wallace was apprehended this morning at approximately 2:30 a.m. at an apartment complex in Rock Hill N.C. He is currently being transported back to Columbia.

Marcus Antwan RobinsonColumbia Police say identified the suspect wanted in connection with the murder of James C. Butler at the Riverside Apartments on Tuesday.

Authorities say they have issued warrants for Marcus Antwan Robinson. He is wanted on charges of Murder, Attempted Armed Robbery and Possession of a Firearm during Commission of a Violent Crime.

Fall Rally Costs Myrtle Beach $37,000 Police OT PDF Print E-mail

(AP) _ The fall motorcycle rally in Myrtle Beach cost the city about $37,000 for overtime for police officers.
  

Organizers of the rally and city officials say it appears attendance at the four-day rally was down compared with last year.That comes after the city enacted 15 ordinances designed to minimize the negatives effects on the community, particularly during the two rallies each May.
