City of Columbia mayor Bob Coble says he is ready to move the city forward after accepting the resignation of long time councilman, E. W. Cromartie.
Cromartie handed over a resignation letter to the mayor Monday after presiding over a meeting to discuss the city’s feeding program for the homeless. After Cromartie broke the news to those in attendance, he had a closed door meeting with Mayor Bob Coble.

Publix supermarkets are voluntarily recalling four different seasoning mixes that they say may contain salmonella. The store says it has taken packets of its Mushroom Gravy Mix, Meatloaf Seasoning, Beef Flavored Stew Mix, and Au Jus Gravy Mix off the shelves.
