Just 4 short months ago, "Sonny" was housed with several other dogs Richland county Sheriff's deputies seized from a Blythewood dog fighting ring back in September. His owner says he's walked right out of that life and into the hearts of the entire department.

"Seeing the damage and how destructive dog fighting is, that had to be a horrible life for him." Deputy Scott Puckett who is also the head trainer of a new holistic fitness program the department started January 1st, says he's always had a soft spot for rescues but as soon as he brought the cuddly canine with him to the gym, he realized he's found the perfect match.

Now, While Deputy Puckett spends countless hours whipping his co-workers into shape, his right-hand man "Sonny" is hard at work, greeting anyone who walks in the door and busy keeping spirits lifted.
