(WOLO) LEXINGTON,S.C., Mayor Randy Halfacre says you only have a few opportunities to create growth in your community, and to do it right - and they are off to a good start.

During Moonday night's address, the Mayor announced work for a vision plan that will include a beautification project utilizing green space in the county, create a dog park, signage, more sidewalks and even a ramp that will serve as an aestetic welcome mat for residents and visitors coming into the town.

While the Mayor says he is pleased with where the town is headed - he did announce concern over a year long delay with a traffic plan SCDOT has been working on. The project aimed at easing congestion along busy roads, which was slated to begin last November and will now begin at the end of this year.

Residence who attended tonight's meeting say they're pleasently surprised with how the town of Lexington is growing, and changing for the better.
