Former SC Superintendent Accused of Tax Evasion

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) _ A former superintendent for schools in Mullins and Columbia is accused of underreporting his income by nearly $626,000. The state Revenue Department says 61-year-old Nathaniel Miller of Columbia was arrested Monday and charged with five counts of tax evasion.

West Columbia Police Arrest Man in Connection with Hit and Run

West Columbia Police have arrested Diedreich Adam Jackson, 29, and charged him with leaving the scene of an accident involving death. On November 5, 2011 the West Columbia Police Department had a traffic fatality that occurred during the early morning hours on N.12th Street. According to police, It appeared a vehicle struck a pedestrian who was walking northbound on the sidewalk.

USC and Clemson Games Set For Noon

USC and Clemson will both play noon home games this Saturday. The SEC and ACC determined the final game times Sunday. USC will host Florida at noon on CBS. Clemson will host Wake Forest at noon on ESPNU. The Gamecocks fall from 9th to 13th in the latest BCS Standings. Clemson is 9th.
