IRMO, S.C. (AP) — Lexington County deputies say they found a man who was running a methamphetamine lab in the tool box attached to the bed of a pickup truck near Irmo.

Investigators said officers checking on a suspicious pickup around 1:30 a.m. Friday in the parking lot of a storage business found 51-year-old Daniel Parrish running and jumping in the truck when they arrived.

After blocking the truck from leaving, deputies say they smelled a strong odor and found a meth lab in the tool box of the 1995 Dodge Ram.

Deputies charged Parrish with manufacturing methamphetamine. He was awaiting a bond hearing in jail and it wasn't clear if he had an attorney.

A special team was called in to clean up the meth lab.
