Columbia hosting walk against domestic violence

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Columbia is stepping out to raise awareness about domestic violence.

The 6th Annual Walk Against Domestic Violence is taking place on Saturday at Finlay Park. The walk is free and open to the public, and there will be an information fair.

Late registration is available at 8 a.m. with the walk beginning at 9 a.m.

October is national Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The latest report by the Violence Policy Center in Washington shows that South Carolina ranks second nationwide in the rate of women killed by men.
