COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Libraries at the University of South Carolina are inviting community members to visit the campus to celebrate Home Movie Day.

Representatives of the libraries' Moving Image Research Collections are holding an "inspection and projection" event Saturday starting at 3:30 p.m.

Several film professionals and aficionados are volunteering their time to inspect films and help film owners learn how to preserve the home movies. If the film is in good condition, it may be projected on a large screen.

The event is being held at the Conundrum Music Hall and is free to the public.
