State Farmers Market provides Halloween fun

WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — With Halloween approaching, the State Farmers Market is offering kids a way to get geared up.

The market is holding Boonanza on Friday at its West Columbia facility. The free event features stations where kids can make their own caramel apples or paint pumpkins.

The event also features games and a "trunk-or-treat" — several cars lined up, their trunks filled with candy for the taking. Children are encouraged to dress up in their favorite costumes.
