Driver shot several times on I-77 near Columbia

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say a man has been shot while driving on Interstate 77 near Columbia.

Richland County deputies said the shooting happened around 2:15 a.m. Sunday near the Forest Drive exit and the driver was able to get off the interstate.

Authorities say the victim was shot several times and was in critical condition at the hospital.

Deputies say a woman was in the car, but couldn't tell officers what happened because she was asleep.
