Sumter holds job fair for veterans, employers


SUMTER, S.C. (AP) — Military veterans who are looking for work and potential employers are coming together at a jobs fair in Sumter.

Thursday's scheduled event is sponsored by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Sumter Chamber of Commerce from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the American Legion Post 15. It is open to active duty military members, members of the Guard and Reserves and military spouses.

There is also a veterans' transition workshop from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Mentoring sessions focus on resume writing, networking and interviewing techniques.
