USC delivers Cocky Award for Super Bowl commercial
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A creative team from the New York advertising office Anomaly is coming to the University of South Carolina to receive the Cocky Award for the best Super Bowl commercial of 2013.
University spokeswoman Megan Sexton says copywriters Johnny Dantonio and art director Mark Sarosi are sharing the behind-the-scenes story on Thursday during their visit to the campus. Their Budweiser commercial called "Brotherhood" portrays the relationship between a horse trainer and a young Clydesdale.
It is the sixth time an Anheuser-Busch commercial has won the Cocky Award, but it is a first for the Anomaly firm.
About 100 students from the College of Mass Communications and Information Studies view the ads and vote on brand identification, likeability and persuasiveness to determine a winner.
