CENTRAL, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say a 20-year-old Clemson University student has been found dead at an off-campus apartment.

Central Police chief Kerry Avery says the student was found when police responded to a call shortly after 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Clemson officials say the student was a junior materials science and engineering major from Columbia. His name has not been released.

Clemson officials say no foul play is suspected.

Avery said a hazardous material crew was called because it appears the student had made some sort of concoction and ingested it. There was no evacuation of the apartment, although that unit was sealed off.

Officials are analyzing samples taken from the apartment.
