LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP) — A 52-year-old woman has become the second person to drown in South Carolina's Lake Murray in just one week.

Divers from the Lexington County Sheriff's Department recovered the body of Lynn S. Clary just after 6 a.m. Friday in 8 to 10 feet of water.

Authorities say Clary had been swimming with another person several hours earlier near a floating dock but didn't come back up to the surface.

Authorities say Clary died from freshwater drowning, and her death is still being investigated.

On June 16, authorities said 17-year-old Millard Waeland Peeples drowned in the lake while trying to swim to shore from a pontoon boat near Saluda.
