Richland sheriff rolling burritos for a good cause

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Sheriff Leon Lott is rolling up his sleeves so he can roll some burritos for a good cause.

On Saturday, Lott is scheduled to be at Moe's Southwest Grill at the Village at Sandhill to benefit the Richland County Sheriff's Foundation.

Deputies will be on hand to enroll children in the free KIDPRINT fingerprinting program. Members of the Community Action Team are also on hand to talk about crime prevention and how to start and maintain crime watches.

Later Saturday, the Third Annual Guardians of the Night K9 5K Run/Walk is set for Sandhill. This year, $2 from every race registration goes to the "K-9 Fargo Fund," which helps law enforcement agencies that experience death or injury to a police service K-9 and need help with medical bills.
