Actress talks at USC on beauty, eating disorders
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A Broadway actress is slated to give an address about positive body images to help young men and women avoid eating disorders.
Amber Krzys (KEHR'-zis) addresses students Wednesday at the Russell House on the University of South Carolina campus at 8 p.m.
The actress has developed an educational program that helps young people understand negative body images in personal and social media. Her aim is to develop the means to give men and women opportunities to view themselves and their bodies in a positive light.
University spokeswoman Megan Sexton says the address is the keynote for the university's annual Carolina Beautiful celebration, which coincides with National Eating Disorders Week.
