American Airlines Plans to Hire 2,500 New Pilots

COLUMBIA, S.C. (CNN) - American Airlines may be in the depths of bankruptcy but it's hiring!

A spokeswoman for the airlines says it will add at least 1,500 new flight attendants over the next year.

The company also plans to hire 2,500 pilots over the next five years.

American Airlines has lost thousands of employees as part of reorganization.

Also part of the plan, the airline is expanding its international flight coverage company-wide.
