COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) -- The boil water advisory for the Flora Springs subdivision has been lifted.

A water main break forced the City of Columbia Water service to issue a boil water advisory Tuesday. Residents and water customers of Flora Springs Subdivision had to boil their water for one full minute before drinking or cooking.

The water issue stemmed from a six inch main break, which could have introduced bacterial contamination.

The department says after flushing and testing the water in the area, the water matched safety levels for normal consumption.
