COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) -New Numbers out today.
Customers turned out in droves during the unofficial Chick-fil-A appreciation day Wednesday.
Executive Vice President Steve Robinson says it was a record-setting day.

Wednesday, Supporters of Chick-fil-A turned out in the thousands in the Midlands to support the fast food chain, as the company continues to be criticized for an executive's comments about gay marriage.

Police were called in to direct traffic at the Chick Fil A in Lexington.
Double drive in lines could be seen across town as visitors filled the lots of area chick fil a stores.

We hear from both sides, including leaders in the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community. In fact, opposing groups are reportedly set to host a 'Kiss More Chicks' event Friday, where they are encouraging same sex couple to go to Chick-fil-A restaurants nationwide and kiss.
