City Residents pack public hearing for Bull St.

By Crysty Vaughan

COLUMBIA,SC (WOLO)-- A packed house greeted City Council Members and Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin Tuesday at the Earlewood Community Center.

Crowds of residents were on hand to voice their opinions on plans to redevelop the Bull Street Property into a shopping and living complex.

Some City officials, including Mayor Benjamin, say the billion dollar project needs to get underway now.

Opponents say more research needs to be done.

We are told that a vote could come as early as Tuesday evening.

ABC Columbia News has a crew at the hearing and will continue to update the story.
