COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) -- "You know that you're not alone and that you're in a position to beat this," says Nikki McCray, Assistant Coach University of South Carolina Women's Basketball.

For the past six years, Nikki McCray has been court-side coaching the Lady Gamecocks to two back-to-back, twenty-five win seasons.

Monday, she announced she's in the middle of another battle, this time for her life.

McCray says because she was 8 months pregnant with her son this time last year, she decided to wait and have her annual mammogram in early November of 2013. That's also around the time that McCray says she found a knot during a self exam.

McCray was diagnosed with breast cancer in November and is currently undergoing treatment.

The Olympic Gold medalist says she will continue to coach, as possible while she battles a disease that her doctors say, is treatable.

"This is something that happened to me, but it's okay," says McCray.

McCray says she will fight to win and she knows Gamecock nation is fighting with her.
