Columbia Police Evacuate Daycare as Precaution

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)-- Columbia Police have evacuated a daycare at 34 Samson Circle as a precaution.

Investigators say a man called the Cooper's Child Development daycare center saying he would go there to harm himself and the children.

CPD has moved the children to a safe location as a precaution.

The daycare center is in the process of notifying parents and caregivers. They will have the option of picking up their children.

No child has been harmed.

CPD is taking the necessary steps to ensure the safety and well-being of the children and staff at the daycare.

CPD is working to locate the suspect.
