Columbia Police Searching for Hit and Run Suspect

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)-- Columbia police are investigating a hit and run incident that happened early Sunday morning, at the intersection of Gervais and Harden Streets.

Police say a female pedestrian was utilizing the crosswalk and crossing Gervais Street (northbound).

That's when police say a vehicle was traveling eastbound on Gervais Street when it struck the pedestrian, and left the scene.

The victim was transported to a local hospital.

The vehicle being sought is possibly a dark colored convertible, (possibly green). The vehicle should have heavy damage to the front end and wind shield.

Citizens should call crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC if they have information that can aid the case.
