The amount of people dying from an outbreak of fungal meningitis has jumped according to the Centers for Disease Control who has been monitoring the illness since cases started popping up throughout the country.

Officials say so far, several people in a total of 9 different states have died from the illness.

Officials believe the outbreak may be linked to steroid injections. Since the outbreak, the plant where the steroids were reportedly made has voluntarily shut down.
