End of the World?

By Monique Williams

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) -- Judgement Day is Saturday, May 21, 2011. At least that's according to Harold Camping, a retired civil engineer and minister, who made the calculation based on his reading of the Bible. It's been spread by advertising, publicity and missionary groups.

Camping claims Saturday is the beginning of the end of the world. Christians will rise to meet Christ in the air on this day; each day thereafter, people or non-believers, will die until God destroys the world October 11, 2011.

Professor of Religious Studies with the University of South Carolina, Dr. Kevin Lewis, questions Camping's predictions. He notes the evangelical preacher was wrong when he claimed the world would end in 1994 and is wrong this time.

T-shirts and other items on Harold Camping's website will still be available after May 21.

Just read the BIBLE. Jesus clearly states that, "no man, not even the angels in heaven know the day nor the hour when the SON OF MAN cometh". He also tells us to BEWARE of false prophets. That's what this man is.
