Midlands Apartment Fire Displaces 17
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) - Investigators are still trying to determine what caused a massive fire at a Columbia apartment complex.
The American Red Cross is assisting 17 people who were affected by the incident. It happened around 5:15pm Friday afternoon at Hunters Way apartments. The Columbia Fire Department says a building was engulfed with flames and smoke when they arrived at the scene. The video at the top of this story was submitted to ABC Columbia News by a viewer who was in the area when the fire was taking place. Crews were forced to shut down a portion of Percival Road as they battled the fire. It affected a total of eight units. No injuries were reported. Damages are estimated at $300,000. |
