USC vs. Georgia: Gameday, Concerts & Parking
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) -- All is quiet now at Williams Brice, the Farmers Market and the South Carolina State Fairgrounds. But soon, close to 100,000 people will descend on Columbia for the Border Bash between the Gamecocks and the Bulldogs.
It's a game so big, the Farmer's Market is opening at 8:00 a.m. Saturday.
But across the street here at the fairgrounds, fans may not be so lucky, in fact some will have to find parking elsewhere.
If your parking space is in the lot leased by USC, outside the fairgrounds gates, you can park there this weekend. However, if your space is inside the fairgrounds gates, you cannot.
"We will be setting up rides and food places in preparation for the fair," says Gary Goodman, Executive Director of the South Carolina State Fair.
That's right, preparations are already underway to help South Carolinians, "Find their happy."
Some will find that happy at the fairgrounds, even this weekend thanks to USC offering free shuttles from the fairground to the USC Horshoe for ESPN'S College Gameday.
This marks the sixth trip, and first in two years, for the show.
The shuttles will run from the Rosewood entrance at the fairgrounds to the Russell House near USC's Horseshoe from 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
According to his Twitter account, Darius Rucker, will also join the Gameday crew as the celebrity picker.
Back at the Farmer's Market, country music artist Billy Currington will perform.
The gates for both the Farmers Market and the Fairgrounds will open at 8:00 a.m. Saturday.
Kick-off for the match-up between the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Georgia Bulldogs is set for 7:20 p.m. at Williams Brice Stadium.
