COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) -- So, how's that New Year's resolution to lose weight and get in shape coming along? If you've had less than stellar results because you've given up a few months into the fight, fitness experts say use the warmer months to recapture that motivation.

Personal trainer, Jason Windley with Body Shop Athletics in Irmo, believes the fitness goals you may have set in January, but didn't necessarily meet, can still be achieved if you start now. He says year after year, he sees a surge of folks around Memorial Day who want to get that beach body in time for the summer. Taking advantage of blue skies and warmer temperatures could be the way to go.

While flexing muscles outdoors or in the gym, fitness gurus remind you to include more fruits and vegetables to your diet and stay hydrated. They say taking small steps now can yield big results by the time next New Year's rolls around, and you can make a different resolution.
