A scary situation is developing in New York for people who ate at a West Village restaurant.
The New York City Health Department warned Friday that as many as 450 people may have been exposed to the Hepatitis A virus.
Patrons who visited the trendy, upscale Alta between March 23rd and April 2nd are at risk.
The restaurant is cooperating with the investigation.
It says some three thousand people visited the eatery during the dates in question.
The Hepatitis A virus is an infectious disease of the liver.
Customers at the restaurant may have been exposed after eating a desert made by an infected worker.
