Police Identify Suspect in Friarsgate Shooting

RICHLAND, S.C. (WOLO) -- The Irmo Police Department has identified the suspect in a shooting in the Friarsgate Neighborhood Tuesday.

Authorities have identified the suspect as 22-year-old Stephen Labrew.

Police say around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, a homeowner in the Friarsgate neighborhood was awakened by a banging sound on his house.

Authorities say the homeowner armed himself out of fear, and when he entered his kitchen, was confronted by Labrew.

The homeowner shot Labrew who eventually fled the home, later collapsing on North Royal Tower Drive.

Labrew was transported by RIchland County EMS to an area hospital where he remains in critical condition.

The Irmo Police Department is investigating.
