Irmo, S.C .(WOLO) -- The Richland County Coroner's Office has ruled the shooting deaths of a family of four in an Irmo house a murder-suicide, as family, friends and neighbors are trying to come to terms with "what made him 'snap' like that."
The Richland County Coroner's Office has ruled the shooting deaths of a family of four in an Irmo house a murder-suicide. Coroner Gary Watts says 38-year-old Sheddrick Miller shot and killed his wife, 28-year-old Kia Miller, 3-year-old son Kyler Miller, and 13-month-old daughter Syrai Miller in the head before turning the gun on himself.
At 10:30 Wednesday morning, Richland County deputies say Sheddrick Miller's mother discovered the bodies in a home on Forest Walk Ct. in Irmo. this, after the mother hadn't seen or heard from her son 'in a couple of days.'
Miller was a barber who owned Kyler's Barbershop. When long-time customer and friend, Michael Johnson, arrived Thursday morning for his regular appointment, he was shocked to learn the man was dead.
"Oh no," said Johnson. "He was such a genuine and happy guy, wanting to do things to make everybody happy. I can't believe he would do something like this."
The exact timing of the shootings and circumstances leading to the incident are under investigation.
