No need to worry if you saw jets scrambling overhead in Sumter.
Major Jim Roth with the South Carolina Air National Guard says jets were practicing air defense tactics in the area today.
Roth says the exercise is necessary to allow the Mcentire unit to gain experience for developing a rapid response capability to defend the nation against airborne threats.
