Jr. Sportscasters Broadcast Cocky's Dramatic Home Run
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) -- A new baseball broadcast team has taken the world by storm, while the legend of Cocky's uncanny athletic ability continues to grow.
Cocky, the former Capital One Mascot of Year, hit a 2-strike, 2-out, 3-run home run in the bottom of the 9th to help the Columbia All-Stars beat the Know-It-Alls 3-2 to win the Wiffle Ball World Series. Avery Williams and Madison Alexander had the play-by-play call. The fresh faces to sportscasting stepped up to the challenge of their first broadcast and made the game-winning home run that much more memorable. With her signature sassy deliver, Alexander foreshadowed Cocky's Shot Heard Round The StateHouse by warning viewers, "This is a serious situation." "In all my years of broadcasting," Williams said, "I've never seen a game like it." |
