Police: Kidnapping Connected to Mexican Drug Operation

Suspects arraigned in court

St. Matthews, S.C. (FBI/WOLO) -- The FBI released the names and pictures of the three suspects they say are responsible for kidnapping a 23-year-old St. Matthews man.

Ruben Ceja-Rangel, age 57, Luis Castro-Villeda, age 22, and Juan Manuel Fuentes-Morales, had initial appearances at the Federal Court House in Raleigh, North Carolina. The three remain in jail.

The FBI announced that a 23-year-old South Carolina man was successfully recovered via a multi-agency rescue effort. The man was kidnapped in St. Matthews, S.C., and transported across state lines into North Carolina by a group of people as part of an elaborate plot with an international nexus say agents.

Additional arrests are anticipated.
