Sumter Co., S.C. (WOLO)-- A Sumter County high school was evacuated Thursday afternoon after investigators say a student told them he had placed bombs throughout the campus.

Sheriff Anthony Dennis says deputies evacuated the campus just after noon Thursday.

Following the evacuation, Dennis says deputies and sled agents searched the school but found nothing.

Deputies say 17 year old Devontay Richbow was arrested and charged in the incident.

Investigators say Richbow also threatened to attempt to shoot as many teachers and students as possible.

According to an incident report he sent the treats from his own phone.
