COLUMBIA (WOLO) - Former South Carolina star and current San Francisco 49ers running back Marcus Lattimore was back in Columbia Saturday to host a youth football camp at Irmo High School.

"I love South Carolina, I love the people of South Carolina, I bet every kid in there supported me through what I went through, the good and the bad. It's only right that I give back to the people who gave back to me," Lattimore said. "I love doing stuff like this."

The Gamecocks all-time rushing touchdown leader finished his first mini-camp with the 49ers Thursday.

Lattimore will head back to San Francisco for training camp in late July, where he will take part in his first contact drills since his horrific knee injury almost two years ago.

"I'm not nervous at all about it. It's a process," Lattimore said. "I've been through it and I know how it is. Once I take a few hits, it will build my confidence."
