Man Found Dead at Apartment Complex

Coroner says victim was shot in the upper body

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) -- Richland County Coroner Gary Watts has released the name of the victim from Friday morning's homicide, which occurred at The Gable Oaks apartment complex on Colleton Street in Columbia.

It happened around 7:00am. Authorities say the body of 46-year-old Warren Nelson was found in the parking lot of the apartment complex. He died at the scene. Nelson died from complications of gunshot wounds to the upper body.
