COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) -- A manhunt for two shooting suspects is underway near Chaping involving both the Newberry County Sheriff's Office and the Lexington County Sheriff's Department.

According to Newberry County authorities, the manhunt is centered around the Nursery Road area in Chapin.

Lexington County authorities tell us around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, three men were in a verbal dispute outside a Lexington county home when one man was shot.

The victim was taken to the hospital for surgery, say authorities.

After identifying the two suspects, authorities brought out K9's and a helicopter to search for them. While they are armed, authorities say, they do not believe the suspects pose any threat to Chapin residents.
